How to post footage on social media as an actor

You know you need to post actor footage but have no idea how…this list will help ya out!

Here are 10 ways you can post footage on social media (without breaking any “rules”)! Make sure to check out these examples as well!

1- Bloopers

Yup, this is the easiest way to post Actor Footage!

2- dance/ acting/ mt reel

Bonus points if you share a story about your career, background or opinion in the caption!

3- inside the rehearsal room

As long as you have permission! Take some quick rehearsal videos. I had to show this reel to the Social Media Manager before I could post it.

4- Show fooatge

If you are lucky enough to get show footage, turn it into an Instagram Reel or a Tik Tok. Just add some captions & a meaningful or witty caption & you are good to go!

5- Self tape clips with music

You CAN use your self tapes that are still in casting process if you cut it up into small clips & add music or a trending audio over it!

6- Callback/ auditions

This is a great example of what can be considered as Actor Footage without showing any “footage”! BUT it shows you doing your craft. Remember work begets work!

PS- Bonus point if you turn this into a series! That’s what I did with all my #AuditionRoadTrips

7- Self Tape

After casting is completed in a project or after the cast is announced post those self tapes babyyy! Just because you don’t book doesn’t mean you didn’t do good work! Show off your talents!

8- collab feature on Insta

Instagram has this amazing feature called “invite collaborator” where a post can be posted on 2 accounts! Ask the theatre to do a behind the scenes of rehearsal then post it as a collab!

9- Create a series

I created a #WhatsInMyBook series! This is great to post when it’s not audition season & you are lacking actor content.

10- Reels Trend

See a fun trending reel on Insta/ Tik Tok? Create a reel that LOOKS like a self tape!

PS- looking for how to add more video to your page, watch this reel!
