Body Love is the Best kind of Self Love

A brief letter to my body

Let’s face it, we have a long history, and it looks like we’re stuck together for the long haul.

I say a lot of things about you, but before I forget, I wanted to say, thank you.

I often ask why, “aren’t you smaller here, or bigger there”. I spend so many minutes of my day wondering ,”why are you this way” in various different combinations and patterns of unkind words.

But I never simply say, thank you.

So this letter, is to you. Thank you. You have carried me through a global pandemic and I don’t know why it took me so long to be so grateful for that.

Through the nights of anxiety about my career, grief of loosing loved ones, and stomach aches from probably eating far too many M&M’s, thank you for carrying me through

I’m not sure what it’s going feel like to put a leotard on again, or my favorite audition dress. But I know our relationship has to change.

Starting today, I vow to show you grace and gratitude each day

For standing sturdy through the highs of booked dream jobs and the lows of being looked passed because of my body.

I mean, after all, you’ve carried me through a pandemic, it’s the least I can do.

Xo,
