I split this blog post into 2 parts. Free things you can do & things that you pay for. Because we are actors & sometimes you can pay & sometimes you can’t & that’s ok!


FREE Activites


1- Update your website

It probs needs a refresh anyway! Update your resume. photos, reviews, news, media, etc.


2- warm up / stretch

This seems pretty obvious but, needed to be said!


3- Look for auditions

This could be free but you could also pay for subscriptions. I recommend looking on Playbill, Actor’s Access, Backstage & the Non-Equity Theatre List.


4- Practice

This is 100% in your control! Sing that song, go over a past dance call, review your lines for that monologue!


5- Post on social media

Hello! This is a FREE marketing tool!


Paid Activities


1- new headshots

New look, who dis?!


2- Revamp your audition book

Having a killer audition book is something in your control! You want & should have a book filled with songs you are obsessed with.


3- Purchase a new audition outfit

A new outfit can give you CONFIDENCE!


4- Take Class

Take a dance class, acting class, sign up for a masterclass, get that training IN!


5- Revamp your resume

Your resume is doing the heavy lifting, make sure it looks the part!
